Northern Getaway Retreat
Goba Care has rented a peaceful cabin just 40 minutes from Larga for our medical travelers to unwind, heal, and enjoy activities like tufting, crafting, traditional medicine-making, and sharing traditional foods.
If you’re in Edmonton Saturday, November 30 or Sunday, December 1, contact us to join. Transportation is provided to and from the cabin for a day of relaxation, from 10AM to 4PM. Spots are limited. Don’t miss the chance for a refreshing retreat!

If you’re interested in learning more about end-of-life care for yourself or others, join us for this free course with Diane Boots from Lifting Their Minds. All materials and meals are provided but participants are expected to cover their travel and hotel costs. Register here.

Elk Island Day Trip
Goba will be taking medical travel patients, escorts and families out to Elk Island National Park for the day. We will be regrounding ourselves, getting into nature and sharing good stories to remind us of home and the land.
We will be having yummy BBQ, games and prizes. Sign up at Larga if you want to attend.

Donna Kisoun, Inuvialuit and Gwich’in knowledge keeper, will be leading two workshop sessions to sew aprons.

Goba Care is hosting this Drum Dance to celebrate and honour the strengths of our cultures and ways of healing within Northern communities. All are welcome to attend.
Celebrating our Healing - Prayer Song for Medical Travelers
Our Dene traditional drum is very meaningful to our healing journey. This event, for medical travel patients and escorts staying at Larga, will allow guests who cannot attend the drum dance to experience healing with a drum prayer song.

This Dene cultural teaching and prayer song will allow patients and healthcare partners to experience the power of our drum and to hear what life is like for us coming in from the far North for medical care.
