Join us in Fort Good Hope this February for a three-day workshop dedicated to connection, healing, and community care. Together, we’ll share stories, honor traditions, and learn from incredible leaders about supporting those impacted by cancer and end-of-life care.
This workshop help inform next steps in improving the quality of cancer care services for NWT while also equipping participants with new information and skills to support community members affected by cancer.
Day 1 will involve information sharing and a cancer sharing circle. Days 2 and 3 will be led by end-of-life care trainer Diane Boots. Training topics will include: preparing before passing (wills, advance care directives, health proxies, planning a funeral, etc), helping patients and families cope, and ways to provide support, all from an Indigenous perspective. Each participant will receive an End-of-Life Care manual and certificate upon completion.
